Chinese Horoscope Essay

August- September

Life as a Tiger

Did you know that all of us have something in common with a Movie Star, Athletes, or even rock singer?
Well from doing my Chinese horoscope essay I learned that I have one main thing in thing that, Tom Cruise,
Jodie Foster, and even Mel Brooks all have. What could we all possibly share with each other? One simple
thing, our birth-year series! We are all Tigers and share our Tiger Characteristics. We were born Tigers
based on our lunar birth-year. All Tigers could have been born anywhere from the February of one year and
the January of another.

There are twelve animals in the circuit so it must be twelve years before another year of Tigers come
about. For example since I am born in 1986 all people within February and January of 1986 are aromatically
tigers and can do nothing it about it. The next generations of tigers are those born within the twelve months
in 1998. Therefore generations before me were born in 1974. We all get the Tiger and his characteristics
from Buddha the Chinese god. He invited all the animals in the jungle to come and meet him for a special
meeting. Only twelve animals came, the twelve horoscope animals, that is. They were the, Rat, Ox, Tiger,
Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Boar. As a show of gratitude he gave
them all a gift, a year or rather a series of years. Along with those years he gave them each Characteristics
which no other had. That is how I became a tiger.

The traits I get from the Tiger are, Daring, Unpredictable, Convincing, and Passionate. I feel these best
suit me because they describe who I am and what I’m like. I love to go on fast rides, and ones that
flip you upside down, therefore I feel I am daring. I also like to go up and embarrass my self because I find it
cheers me up to have people laugh at me. Unpredictable describes me because no one ever know what I will
do next or how I will respond to certain thing. When someone asks me a question I don’t know the
answer to I won’t admit that I don’t know, I just will just make up a answer I feel sounds right.
I change moods very quickly and if something upsets me I will tell someone not keep it all bottled up inside.
The word "Convincing" Best describes me because just giving speeches and speaking my mind, I have
gotten people to change their opinions about others and important things. An example of one of these things
is, when I was in fourth grade I had to put on a magic show for the younger students at our school, we had
them fooled until one kid figured out how we did it and told the others. Since I am so convincing I was able to
re-fool them into believing we were really magicians and not some kids from the fourth grade. "Passionate"
is a word that only describes me in a small way. When I see something I really like for example a new pair
of jeans, I will develop a longing for those jeans, not exactly a "love" but I really want them badly. Another
example of why passionate describes me is, that when I get to know someone really well I will like being
around them. I now know what they are like and since I have known them for what seems like forever I will
know what they like and develop a passion to be with them and talk with them.

Of course, since some of the tiger characteristics describe me, there must be at least one that
doesn’t. The few that I found were, Colorful, Fiery, and Love to all of Gods creatures and creations. I
don’t think that colorful is one of my tiger traits because Colorful means, vivid and full of color… I
don’t like colorful things so therefore I defiantly am not. Same thing vivid, I don’t really think I
am all that vivid and spacey. Fiery is a word that doesn’t even come close to describing me, mainly
because I means fire-like and jumpy, dangerous and scary. Sure I’m jumpy, who isn’t, but
dangerous and scary those two words don’t go with me. "Love to all Gods Creations", this is one of
those things is sort of is and sort of isn’t. I love the thought of animals, but for some reason whenever
I to the Kruger National Park in South Africa all that love distintergrait. I don’t if it was the one time
my family and I were charged by a bull elephant or the time we backed into a ditch because of chase but I
always get a large paranoia for animals larger then me.

Of course, there has to be some traits that I don’t yet have, but would like to develop through my
years as a tiger. I would love to be fearless, then I could back to the park and ignore all the tourists telling us
to turn around because there is a chase or a charge going on. I’m guessing I was like my dad, who
drives into the chase to get a picture or just even a glimpse at the lion killing its prey. I would also like to be
rebellious, so that I could stand up to my sister when she bothers me and nags me to do things I
don’t have to do. Like give her the remote to the television, when I was there first, or get off the
computer just because he arranged to meet her friends at a certain time, what if I had done the same? What
would she do then? All these things I wish I had but wishing won’t get you any-where. I know I must
try to accomplish these goals and traits that I want have so from now on I am going to try and stand up to
my sister and try to stop being a over worried person.

As I go back and reflect on my essay, looking back at the first paragraph I notice the question, how can
we all have something in common. I now know it is as simple as the series of years that we were born in!
After reading this when people say to me, "How could you possibly have something in common with
someone as famous as Tom Cruise, Jodi Foster, or even Mel Brooks"? I can laugh and say we are all Tigers
and share several tiger characteristics. Even though we are totally different we are all tigers in are own
special ways, and since we all have that, we all have something in common.
