Janie Winters

As Janie was walking down the hallway to her locker, a classmate stopped her in her path, to ask about some homework. She continued down the hallway and noticed that some people were looking at her. She thought, maybe there was something wrong with the way she was looking, at the moment. Janie hurried to the restrooms, to check herself in the mirror. She had short, brown hair that had been cut recently and was made into two pigtails. Her eyes were like creamy brown Chocolate just melted. She wears glasses to maintain her splendid eyesight. Her nose was a bit expanded and is a mountain when she sleeps. Also her lips were as pink as an eraser. She wore a little make up, to make her face stand out. Her brown eyes studied her light blue, flower-covered skirt and vest with a white shirt that went under the vest. Janie was short, and young for her grade, but her platform shoes made her seem taller, because she skipped two grades. She fingered her gold loop earring, which her parents had recently bought for her as a present. Janie was smoothing out her clothes and looking at the white petals and an orange center with green leaves. After looking at herself, she went to look for her friends.
Mary, her best friend said, “I heard Lucy say that your ancestors are criminals, that’s why you are such a goody-goody.”
Janie said “Oh well, let her think what she want, I still have lots of friends.”
A friend said “That she could talk a lot faster, and the word seem to fly out of your mouth.” Janie talks at a pace so people can understand her well.
So Mary asked Janie “Was there anything that happened to you in your life?” She said yes and described the incident about the mark on her eyebrow. Janie fell on the fireplace’s edge. Sometimes people think that Janie is the leader of her group. Sometimes Janie and her group brag about themselves to put down Lucy and her gang. On her way to her classes she says hi to everyone she passes. Her hips don’t sway a lot, but every so often. If she is with friends she walks slow so she can hear lots of gossip. Her friend talks about things that happen in the news and around the school. Her friends were talking about divorce, and she remembers the time was when her parents almost divorced but they worked things out.
Janie other best friend Helen said a joke, about someone that moved away. She laughed so hard that she had to cover my mouth, before anyone could ask, “What is so funny,” because people are so nosey. She is nice, kind, helpful, honest, and considerate of other people. Expect for that people that talk behind her back, and say mean things about her. In her group the way someone want to talk or to have the floor is by saying “pardon, me saying…” At times when Janie is alone she starts talking to herself about school, friends, and a lot of other things. They entered their class and sat down as if they were professionals at a meeting. As Janie was walking to her next class, a boy stopped me in my path, an asked for help after school.
