Me as an Ox

Are you a Dragon or a Dog? A Rat or a Rooster? According to the
Chinese system of Horoscopes each of us is born under a different animal sign,
depending on the year of our birth. As a result this animal personality determines
our character and it’s effects on emotional family life,
heath and relationships.

I am an Ox, attentive, funny and reliable. Indeed these are some
aspects that apply to me. I was born, according to the Solar calendar, in the
year of the Tiger, but in 1986 the Chinese year begun on February the 9th,
therefore by 18 days I am an Ox. In addition there are also some
negative traits that come along with being an Ox. Stubbornness, impatience, and
over-sensitivity, some of these characteristics I would like to change.
Many things do not qualify as part of my personality, and I think that other
oxen’s are different. Nevertheless I do not consider myself to be
snobby, ego-eccentric, or negative, which are also features that define the Ox.

Ox’s are very strong and will work hard for whatever they want.
They are steady, reliable and will always go all the way and speak for what they
believe is right. Once an ox has made up it’s mind about an issue, no
one can make them change their belief.

Oxen have many different traits, but just because I am an Ox does
not mean I have to have all these features. One trait that I have is being
attentive towards others and myself. Therefore you should always listen
when a person is talking to you. When I first meet a person I like to have a
good impression on them. However I feel gravely insecure when someone says
negative words about me. I reckon myself as a reliable and caring
person. Friends are who I love being around the most. I always try to help them
with any problem that they have; I will also keep any secrets and make sure
not to tell anyone when I am not supposed to. Another quality that I think
I got from the ox is being funny. Most of my friends say that I am funny and
I know when the time calls for a good joke.

A few of the Ox’s traits clash with my character. In instance I am
not snobby. The reason being for this is that I do not think that I am
better than anybody else is. Another trait is that I am not ego-eccentric, I
don’t only think about myself but also others. Last but not least I am not
negative. Frequently I try to think about the good side of the
badsittuation.

There are also many traits that I do have but that I want to
change, like being stubborn. Most of the time I argue with my parents to get
what I want, but this never gets me anywhere. In other words I would like to
not argue any more and do what they want me to and maybe I will get my way
without much effort. Unquestionably I get mad a lot because of my
over-sensitivity, I seem to loose my temper surprisingly fast. Every
little thing makes me insane. Obviously I need to dispose of this trait before
I get upset at some one because of something that they didn’t mean to do.
I am also somewhat impatient and I try to hurry through many things just to
get done ahead of everybody else. Patience is needed for everything in life
so I have to definitely work on that.

Since many of the ox’s traits fit me, I think that the Ox fits me
well as a Horoscope sign. While studying the Chinese Horoscope I found out
some of the traits that I have, others that I want to replace and some that
do not employ me at all. Hopefully, these traits will help me succeed in
the future.
