Cindy
As she pranced around in her white knee high socks,
and short
plaid pleated skirt, people watch wide eyed as she gradually walks
by. She
ran down the hall eager to talk to her friends. On her way, which
seemed to
be a mile, she ignored everyone else and acted like she was the
Queen of the
school. Today she was wearing a white shirt and a dark blue vest
over.
Everywhere she went she would take her petite silver colored purse
just
in case her make-up smeared. When she met up with her bunch she
instantly
began to brag about her new shoes and shirt that she had recently
bought.
"Oh my gosh! You guys wont believe what a great deal this
was
" and on
and on did she ramble about her bargain.
Cindy is a 8th grader at SAS (Singapore American School).
Even
though she has lived in the States for the other 12 years of her
life.
Cindy is very concerned about the way she looks and especially
the way she
dresses. With her curly pale brown hair tied up in a high pony
tail,
and her face completely covered in make-up, she almost looks as
if she were 10
years older than she really is. Her make up is perfectly put on.
A light blue
line smoothly covers the top lid of her small dark brow eyes.
Her eyebrows
are neatly straitened with a slight curve at the tip and around
her nose
and cheeks are slightly noticeable freckles. Her lips are covered
with a
clear coat of lip balm to add a shine.
Unexpectedly, out of nowhere the bell rings, like the
loud
drums at a Chinese festival. "Bing, Bang
. Bing, bang!"
Cindy ran to class, with
her shoulders held high and her feet crossing with each step.
She raced
down the empty hallways. When she got into her class, as usual
she was late.
Quickly, Cindy made up an excuse, "Oh my gosh, you will not
believe what just happened! As was running to
class, my hair got all messed up. So like I totally HAD to go
and fix
it
it took like hours to fix!"
Not to start an argument with Cindy the teacher agreed and nodded
numbly. Class started, "another boring day," murmured
Cindy to herself. She
cautiously took her seat and as doing so adjusted her skirt, crossed
her legs, and began to tap her foot.
"Oh my gosh, Cassi did you just totally hear about
Jimmy
?" As
she continued her LOUD gossip she carefully inspected her nails
and changed
the subject and stated that she needed a manicure. Cindy wasn't
paying any
attention what so ever to what the teacher was saying. As class
continued she began winding her hair around her fingers and could
hardly wait
until she was out of class.
By now half of the day had gone by, at last it was lunchtime.
As she casually walked towards her table, which was the last one,
she noticed
people devouring their food in a rush, Cindy thought that was
the most
disgusting thing. She would remark that they eat like horses.
As she finally approached her table Cindy sat down to
have her
lunch, with her usual group of friends. But in a wink of an eye
Cindy
was already encircled. While her friends tried pulling her away
from the
overcrowded island of guys, it was like trying to find a needle
in a
haystack. It was no use. Cindy paid no attention and kept blabbering
to
the guys about how her weekend was.
After the long bus ride home, Cindy opened the door to
her
enormous abode; she ran up the stairs and said a rapid hello to
her dad. As soon
as she got to her immense room she slipped on some comfortable
clothes and
was ready to go out shopping. This was a rather normal day for
Cindy!
