Little Red Riding Hood
By: Brooke Wright
Ok, this might be a little different than your average story of Little Red Riding Hood, but I think you should hear the real version of the story.
It all started one day when me, the wolf was walking through the forest like I do everyday looking for food. As I walked I saw someone moving in the from behind the tall bushes, when I looked over a saw a human! Sometimes they were men and sometimes they were not. I couldnt see who it was so I decided to creep around to the side of the bush and see who it was. I am just hoping that it is not a hunter trying to kill me for my fur! To my surprise it was a little girl, she has blonde hair, blue eyes, a red cape with a hood and rosy red cheeks. I remembered that she lived on the other side of the forest so I was curious on why she was in the middle of the woods all alone. So I decided to approach her, I thought she would run away, you know how mothers these days tell their children not to talk to strangers and be careful when you are around wild animals. I am sure you have heard those before.
" Hey there little girl, what is your name?," I questioned.
For a while there she stood as stiff as a board and as pale as a ghost.
Trying to comfort her I told her, "Dont be afraid of me I am a good wolf and would never hurt a fly." Well, I guess you could say that is true, unless food counts as hurting something, I though to my self eagerly. Oh, I am getting off subject arent I? So were was I? Oh yeah!
"So were are u headed? Any were "important?" I asked trying to be friendly and have a conversation with her.
"To my grandmas house, she is terribly sick and I was told to take her this goodie basket so she can get well," she answered in her sweet high pitched voice.
To grandmas house huh? Well maybe I can beat her
there and eat the basket for my self them I will be full! Sounded
like a good plan to me at the time. I have seen her grandmas
house before so I dont even have to bother asking where
it is! Thankfully because you know kids their days will get suspicious!
" Well I guess better be on my way to go and find me
some breakfast because I can hear my stomach growling! Hold on
a second, did I ever catch your name?" I asked her so that
at grannys house I was sure to get it right.
" Um it is Little Red Riding Hood Mr. Wolf sir." She replied so innocently again.
She took off merrily down the path again off to her dear old grannys house. See I have a sweet side but no one ever gives me the chance to express my feelings. Why doesnt anyone stop me when I start to ramble on like that?
I know a short cut through the woods, now my only problem is trying not to run into Little Red again. I was just minding my own business trying to hurry to grannies, I started our walking, then I speed up, faster and faster, until finally I was running as fast as I possibly could. After about ten minutes of this horrendous work out I made it, I was panting so hard that I had to sit down and catch my breath before I knocked on grannys door. I was all rested up and ready to carry out my plan.
"Knock, Knock, Knock," I pounded on the door.
" Who is it," grannys old shaky voice asked.
" It is Little Red Riding Hood granny, you silly who else would it possibly be, you are expecting my right," I answered quickly and quietly so she would like I was actually her real grand daughter.
"Well of course dear, come in my door is always open to you," she said.
Wow granny has a nice place if I do say so my self. But by the time I turned the corner, it was to late, granny saw that it was really me you know the wolf.
"Help," she cried, I thought the whole forest could hear her, but luckily it was just her house that echoed.
Not knowing what to do I shut her in the nearest closet and left her there. After about ten minutes of screeching and crying she decided to give up knowing that no one can hear here. In the time I had waiting for Little Red to get there I had to look in grannys drawers to see were her night gowns were so I could put one on. Finally I managed to find one, it was a little small but I could squeeze in some how. I then hopped in her bed knowing that I would soon have food and company. Right as I did there was a knock at the door.
"Knock, Knock, Knock."
" Who is it," I asked just like granny had done
in her shaky voice.
" Little Red Riding Hood," she said answering my question.
" Oh do come in darling."
She walked in and came to sit on the bed and hand me the basket. You know how in all the versions you heard she asks why I have such big eyes and ears and teeth? Well she never really asks that. Like I said before everyone is trying to make me look like that mad evil guy that no one likes. As I started to get really hungry I looked in the goodie bag and found fruits and healthy things. It might not be my normal diet but hey it is something to eat right? I think the best thing in there was the chicken soup. So I started to eat it, but it was to hot so I blew on it for a minute and then all of the sudden granny pops out of the closet and flies right into my mouth. That was something I defiantly was not expecting. But anyway Little Red then got mad at me wanted to save her grandmother so she jumped down my throat to. That was not fun because I could feel them moving around inside me. Little Red Riding Hoods dad had apparently been chopping wood in the forest that evening so when he came to pick her up, all he found was me. He took his newly sharpened axe and it went right into my belly. That was the most painful day I have ever experienced. Granny was a sewer so she did sew up my stomach and I went home.
I will never go near an another human as long as I live.
I have learned my lesson. So you see, in the end I was not that
bad person that you think. I guess that you will just have to
get to know me. You know what they say, dont judge a book
by its cover. I can be sensitive and kind if I want to be.
