| William Lloyd Garrison started with a simple view of con slavery. He was the publicist of a book called the Liberator. After the North read the following quote he became an extremist-or an extreme abolitionist-for con slavery. "I am in earnest! I will not equivocate! I will not excuse! I will not retreat a single inch! AND I WILL BE HEARD!" Garrison thought slavery was a sin and a crime. As Garrison became more extreme, some of the moderates thought he should calm down and not be so drastic, but he refused. This led many moderates the other way. Other than slavery Garrison supported woman’s rights. As an effect from his loyalty, the woman’s rights association helped him. |
